"All Please Read This Carefully
I have already written to Lin Milano regarding this, and I hear Gary has expressed reservations about the validity of this event.
I will tell you here what I have found out. Please bear with me as this is a little involved.
There are 2 addresses listed for the site:22 Ave Arago, 31500, Toulouse, France -
which is the address you are supposed to send money to.
The other address is: 33 Lot de Champy, Vignolles, France.
The site is resistered to Florent Sivny
The site was built on Jan 31 (specially for these 'conventions')
And it expires July 23 @ 9.58:28 am (just 3 weeks after the Charmed event they talk about)
The email shown with the site details is different to that listed on the site. It is:
florent.sivny@wandoo.fr
The problems really start when you know that the 2 girls who are telling everyone about this are Francoise, and Michelle Bach - and they claim to be from Switzerland - which is nowhere near Toulouse or Vignolles! and is, of course, a completely different country!
They have no credit card facilities, and ask you to register your interest and pay for this event by cash or check within 7 days of registering.
BUT:
1. There is NO venue stated!
2. No proof of ANY stars participation (charmed nor SG-1) is shown - you have to take their word for it!
3. There is no offer of a refund of your money if the event never happens!
4. Very significantly, these people had not posted anywhere before they posted about this 'event' over at charmed-boards!
There are MORE problems about this:
A. If this is genuine, then why hasn't the event been noted in the newspapers and magazines? (they are always happy to make note of upcoming events!)
B. Why do both the WB, and Paramount (who OWN Charmed) know nothing of this 'event'?
C. On a slightly wider note, the other 'event' listed is for a Stargate SG-1 convention in November - yet MGM, who have a very complete site for this series have nothing listed by way of this 'convention'!
My advice is DO NOT send any money whatsoever until someone at the WB or Paramount - or nearer home, Lin Milano or whomsoever lets us all know it is for real.
My suspicions are that it is just another internet scam intended to loosen money from the grip of fans desperate to interact with their heroes/heroines!
Love and Light,
Graham "

Demnach soll die Convention nur ein Betrug sein, ob das stimmt wird sich zeigen.
